long overdue
It's Ricki's little ramshackle apartment, but there Peter is one morning, perched on the loveseat, reading a file, waiting for Bruce Wayne to arrive.
He has a gun, but tucked out of sight, not on his person. Just in case.

"You have a sugar daddy, you can drink the good stuff whenever you want now."
no subject
Recalling, with a faint smile.
"You're going to buy me a sniper rifle, aren't you, daddy?"
no subject
"I'll design one just for you if you're very, very good."
He licks his lips.
"...Wow."
no subject
Peter judges, looking him up and down.
"I'm going to rock your universe of its' foundation the moment I'm not too hurt to manage to get it up."
no subject
He grins at him, lazy and thoughtful and possessive.
"But you say it and I could just about take you right here anyway."
no subject
He tells him, knees knocking together, slouching back in his seat like an errant schoolboy.
no subject
He laughs, even as he leans in and kisses him. Hard.
"We should stop or I really will just- get really frustrated because you need to rest and heal before I can touch you."

no subject
He teases, but he's worried about Peter now, so he goes to get the ice himself.
no subject
Peter asks him, shyly.
no subject
"He's my rock."
It's probably the most romantic, cliche thing he's ever said but there is no other way to describe the way he needs Bruce.
no subject
Bright eyes opening.
"Wayne wants to you pay Ricki out. He says I'm slinking back to you, making him think he's alone."
no subject
It's the only reason Tony sends him into danger: so that Ricki will know that Tony wants him.
"And slinking? I'd have you and Ricki both if I could, so this 'being alone' thing is shit."
no subject
Reminding him.
no subject
He sips his refilled drink and nods at him significantly.
"But no more dislocations in my house unless they're trying to steal something."
no subject
He informs him, looking at the ceiling.
no subject
Or rather, Tony's distractable mind doesn't remember it immediately.
no subject
Peter reminds him, blinking hard.
"It wasn't- it felt. Invasive. I know we don't have- I'd have rather he hadn't done that with you. It made me feel... insignificant."
no subject
"You aren't."
no subject
He tells the ceiling.
"It almost cost me you. I came so close to running, and not looking back."
no subject
He can admit that now, quietly.
no subject
He tells him.
"It was the fear in your voice that stopped me. But it wasn't an all right thing for him to do. It took a long time for me to forgive him."
no subject
Because he'd been as complicit, after all.
no subject
"I love you. You know that. I don't want to change you or police you. And I know he didn't tell you the whole truth to start with. So I can live with it."
Even if he's blinking hard, almost a year later.
"It's an irrational thing to mind."
no subject
He sits up, to peer down at Peter, block his vision. He's as relaxed as ever, but genuine, too.
"There are things about you that I could never find in anyone else."
